Load and Go | Low – Cost Transport Only Service
European Moving’s Load and Go service is suitable for customers that wish to move the maximum amount of goods/cargo the longest distance for the cheapest possible price. We shall supply you with a van and its driver. First, you take care of the packing; By all means, have a look at our Mover’s Guide. Then, you ask a small group of friends or family members on both ends of the journey to carry your goods to and from the van. Finally, the driver will help loading and unloading from his van.
Load and Go – Loading and unloading
If you cannot get enough friends, family members or neighbours to help you both with the loading AND the unloading, you may want to consider our EasyMoves service as the driver helps with the loading and unloading from and to a ground level room of your choice
Full load – Dedicated van(s)
Our driver(s) will provide assistance with the loading and unloading of your goods on and off the vehicle but will remain near his van.
We allocate a maximum of 5 hours for loading and 3 hours for unloading per vehicle; unless of course, you agreed more time with our transport sales team.
You need adequate manpower at both collection and delivery points to load and unload the vehicle; One is a minimum to help the driver. 2 or 3 is ideal, depending on volume and weight. Indeed, carrying a sofa requires at least 2 people; Some wardrobes will need up to 4 persons.
Part-loadIf you have less than 12m3 or 600 kg, you probably do not need to pay for a full van. Just like for a full load, you need to pack and protect your items for transport. Likewise, since this is Load and Go, conditions for loading and unloading are the same; the driver helps from his van. You have one hour to load, and another hour to unload. Should you think you will need more, please make sure you advise your move coordinator as soon as possible; In any case before collection day. You will still need your friends to help with the loading and unloading. We shall supply you with adequate space and weight capacity in the van for the volume/weight your ordered. With a part-load, we try to optimise the load in the van; Therefore your goods are likely to be one of several loads in the van. Make sure that all your items are correctly protected, and that you have clearly labelled them with your name and your delivery address. If your goods are not labelled properly, or if you do not check your inventory as you unload, some boxes can remain in the van. We do not take any responsibility for inadequately labelled goods that are left on one of our vehicles or being delivered to the wrong destination. In such cases, you will need to pay redelivery fees before we arrange the delivery.
Load and Go – Collection and delivery
Full load – Dedicated van(s)
When you have booked a dedicated van on our Load and Go service, you can choose your collection day. We can deliver on Sunday, but cannot collect. The distance between the two ends of the journey conditions the time it takes. You shall agree the best dates for you with your move coordinator.
You can change the chosen date for your collection up to 3 days before without incurring any fees. However, should you need to change less than 3 days before collection we would need to charge you; By this time we have allocated a van for your move and we may have turned away other jobs.
Our logistics department aims to give us an Estimated Time of Arrival between 36 and 12 hours before collection. However, this time is subject to traffic conditions.
For a part-load, we need a 3 working day window for collection. People helping with the loading must be available. It goes without saying that we will confirm the date as soon as possible. Collection happens between 8:00 and 18:00, Monday to Saturday.
You can change collection date of your half-load without any fees if you change at least 7 days before the start of the collection window.
Our logistics manager and your move coordinator will keep you informed of your collection date. They will also let you know about their Estimated Time of Arrival a few hours before, subject to traffic conditions.
Date of delivery for a part-load depends on the driver’s itinerary. Of course, we’ll do our very best to cater to your specific needs. However, if you do not have the flexibility required for your collection and delivery dates, we strongly advise that you choose a dedicated van (full load). It will still probably work out cheaper than most of our competition.
Load and Go: Inventory
You must provide our removals team with an inventory of the cargo we shall move for you.
First, this document is essential to check that everything is loaded and unloaded as it should.
Also, Customs will want to see that list should they stop the van at a border.
Finally, our load planners will also need to see a copy of it to check the estimated cubic size of the suggested load against industry averages.
Please note that it is impossible for us to estimate the weight; we therefore strongly recommend that you try and weigh everything as you pack. Please read our movers guide for other helpful tips.
You will also need to provide 2 copies of the inventory in paper format on the day; You, or the person loading for you, will need to check this inventory on to the vehicle with the driver. One copy is for you to keep and one copy is for the driver. If you wish to ship without doing this then this, then this is entirely at your own risk.
Load and Go: Load volume and weight
Our vehicles have the same weight capacities as most of the other vehicles in the transport business. The biggest consideration when moving your goods needs to be the weight. For instance, our most popular vehicle used, a Luton van can take up-to 20m3 in volume with a 1000kgs payload (800 kg in some countries, like Switzerland or Austria). If you have a large number of 20 kg boxes you will only be able to get 50 boxes on the vehicle before you start to hit your weight limit. And although your van will only be half full in volume, it cannot legally take anymore.
If you think you are going to send the vehicle overweight then please talk to our removals team as soon as possible. This way we can plan the lowest cost solution and indeed avoid awkward situations on the day of your move.
Please note: Although most of our vans do not have a tail-lift, we may be able to supply you with one (subject to availability). Be aware though that the hydraulics reduce the maximum weight by another 250 kg (it doesn’t affect the volume).
Load and Go: Packing
Packing your items is entirely your responsibility.
Therefore, neither we nor our insurance company will take any responsibility for damaged goods if they are inadequately packaged and subsequently damaged in transit.
