Update (08.09.2020)

As of 4 September, areas under local lockdown in the UK include parts of north-west England, West Yorkshire, Leicester, and Glasgow.
Leeds, Middlesbrough, Corby, Kettering, and South Tyneside have been added to the government’s coronavirus watchlist following a recent spike in COVID cases. Caerphilly will be placed in a local lockdown from 6 pm on Tuesday 8th September, where it will not be possible to enter or leave or enter without good reason. Areas of “enhanced support” are also on the rise.
Brits travelling from 7 Greek islands, including Mykonos and Santorini, are the latest destinations to face a 14-quarantine on their return to the UK. These islands are the latest to join countries like Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Jamaica on the UK quarantine list.
Social gatherings above 6 people are to be banned in England from 14th September. Exemptions to the new law include schools, workplaces or COVID-secure weddings, funerals, and organised team sports such as football.
