At European Moving we are committed to providing low-cost yet reliable moving services to people moving to and from Switzerland. Even better, we offer a full range of additional services such as extra manpower, packing & unpacking, storage, and customs clearance to suit your individual needs.
Our team of experienced move coordinators have years of experience in the removals and transport industry and will be happy to assist you with any questions and queries you might have with regards to your move. If you find the whole process of moving to Switzerland exciting but at the same time nerve-wracking, you are not alone. Nearly 2.1 million foreigners have faced the same challenges and are now making up more than a quarter of the population in Switzerland.
To make your move to Switzerland smoother and easier, you’ll need to get familiar with the Swiss way of life.
The country is famous for its high standard of living, highly competitive economy and picturesque landscapes. For these and many other reasons, Switzerland often tops the list with the best European countries to live in but most likely that’s all you know about it. Understanding Swiss culture and social life will help you settle in quickly so spare enough time to research every important aspect of your new life prior to your relocation.
And while you are getting ready for your new life in Switzerland, we will plan your move down to the last detail.
When you book a man and van service to Switzerland, be it full-load or part-load, you are required to fill in and sign two types of documents: an inventory and a service contract. Our team will send you the contract as soon as you approve your quote, while the inventory needs to be completed and sent back to us 3 to 5 days before your moving day.
As Switzerland is not part of the European Union, customs clearance is obligatory when you’re crossing the border. You will need to make sure that you have all necessary permits and have completed the proper documentation for entry in to Switzerland and have provided it to the driver as he will need to clear your household goods through customs. If you have more important things to deal with, we can prepare the customs clearance documentation for a fair price so be sure to book this service in advance.
The inventory list is an important element of a hassle-free move to Sweden, so the sooner you complete it and send it back to us, the better. Additionally, you will need to prepare a copy of your inventory for the driver and keep one to yourself.
We had a successful move to Switzerland from the UK. We did a full load, and Petar, our moving coordinator, was very helpful, the van arrived on time for collection, and was on time for drop off. The driver was great at packing the van well and nothing was damaged and broken (we had done lots of prep with blankets and padding). I definitely recommend.
