The EasyMoves service is typically for customers who need an extra pair of hands. The driver-porter is a professional who will help you with the loading and unloading from and to a ground level room of your choice, or the hall of your building. If you need him to help to bring your goods to upper floors, please speak to your move coordinator as it is possible and involves extra fees.
Please note that the driver is here to assist with the loading and unloading, not to do it on his own; We still require you to have friends or family to help with both loading and unloading.

EasyMoves: Loading / Unloading
Our driver/porter will provide limited help to get the goods on to the vehicle from the ground floor of your property, and from the van to the ground floor of your property.
You have a maximum of 5 hours loading unless agreed prior with our sales team; You have 3 hours unloading time unless agreed prior with our sales team.
Please understand that to keep the costs down we only supply one driver per van. He physically cannot do either the loading or unloading of a house move on his own. You must, therefore, supply an adequate workforce of friends and family at both ends of your move. The number of people required depends on the nature, volume and weight of your items. Boxes can easily be handled by one person if you kept the weight under 20 kg; A sofa requires a minimum of two persons and a large wardrobe a total of 4. In general, for a full van, we consider that 1 person to help the driver is a minimum. 2 or 3 is ideal.
EasyMoves: Collection and delivery
Dedicated van – full load
When you have booked a dedicated van on our EasyMoves service, you can choose your collection or delivery day. We can deliver on Sunday, but cannot collect. The distance between the two ends of the journey conditions the time it takes. You shall agree the best dates for you with your move coordinator.
You can change the chosen date for your collection up to 3 days before without incurring any fees. However, should you need to change less than 3 days before collection we would need to charge you; By this time we have allocated a van for your move and we may have turned away other jobs.
Our logistics department aims to give us an Estimated Time of Arrival between 36 and 12 hours before collection. However, this time is subject to traffic conditions.
For a part-load, we need a 3 working day window for collection. People helping with the loading must be available. It goes without saying that we will confirm the date as soon as possible. Collection happens between 8:00 and 18:00, Monday to Saturday.
You can change collection date of your half-load without any fees if you change at least 7 days before the start of the collection window.
Our logistics manager and your move coordinator will keep you informed of your collection date. They will also let you know about their Estimated Time of Arrival a few hours before, subject to traffic conditions.
Date of delivery for a part-load depends on the driver’s itinerary. Of course, we’ll do our very best to cater to your specific needs. However, if you do not have the flexibility required for your collection and delivery dates, we strongly advise that you choose a dedicated van (full load). It will still probably work out cheaper than most of our competition.
You must provide our removals team with an inventory of the cargo we shall move for you.
First, this document is essential to check that everything is loaded and unloaded as it should.
Also, Customs will want to see that list should they stop the van at a border.
Finally, our load planners will also need to see a copy of it to check the estimated cubic size of the suggested load against industry averages.
Please note that it is impossible for us to estimate the weight; we therefore strongly recommend that you try and weigh everything as you pack. Please read our movers guide for other helpful tips.
You will also need to provide 2 copies of the inventory in paper format on the day; You, or the person loading for you, will need to check this inventory on to the vehicle with the driver. One copy is for you to keep and one copy is for the driver. If you wish to ship without doing this then this, then this is entirely at your own risk.
EasyMoves: Load volume and weight
Our vehicles have the same weight capacities as most of the other vehicles in the transport business. The biggest consideration when moving your goods needs to be the weight. For instance, our most popular vehicle used, a Luton van can take up-to 20m3 in volume with a 1000kgs payload (800 kg in some countries, like Switzerland or Austria). If you have a large number of 20 kg boxes you will only be able to get 50 boxes on the vehicle before you start to hit your weight limit. And although your van will only be half full in volume, it cannot legally take anymore.
If you think you are going to send the vehicle overweight then please talk to our removals team as soon as possible. This way we can plan the lowest cost solution and indeed avoid awkward situations on the day of your move.
Please note: Although most of our vans do not have a tail-lift, we may be able to supply you with one (subject to availability). Be aware though that the hydraulics reduce the maximum weight by another 250 kg (it doesn’t affect the volume).
Packing your items is entirely your responsibility.
Therefore, neither we nor our insurance company will take any responsibility for damaged goods if they are inadequately packaged and subsequently damaged in transit.
